Red Lester is proud to announce that we were Highly Commended in the Sustainability and Net Zero Award category at the BESA Awards 2025, hosted last week at the historic Honourable Artillery Company in London.

Organised by the British Educational Suppliers Association (BESA), the annual awards celebrate excellence, innovation and impact across the UK education sector. Being shortlisted in two highly competitive categories — Sustainability and Net Zero and Team of the Year — was an honour in itself. Receiving a Highly Commended award is a true testament to the passion, dedication and purpose that drive the Red Lester team every day.

Our Trees for Teachers initiative secures tree planting across the world to offset our teachers’ travel. So just by working with us, teachers and schools are helping to protect the planet for the future generations they’re teaching.  To date we’ve planted 84 UK trees through our partnership with Carma Earth,  taking our total to an impressive 2,400 globally. This will remove 809 tonnes of carbon emissions. You can read more about our initiative on our Environmental page.

We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Findel, the winners of the Sustainability and Net Zero Award and to the other outstanding finalists in this category, Oxford University Press and Cambridge University Press & Assessment. To be recognised alongside such established names is a milestone we are incredibly proud of.

Red Lester’s shortlisting for Team of the Year also reflects our collaborative spirit, commitment to purpose-led recruitment and strong ethical values — all of which underpin the work we do supporting schools both in the UK and abroad.
