Red Lester recently returned to Jersey in the Channel Islands, to visit our beloved schools and teachers working there.

It’s been a little while, but in-person visits remain high on our priority list, so Managing Director Ali was keen to hop back over to one of our favourite teaching locations.

This visit comes at a time when schools in the Channel Islands – like many locations across the world – are navigating ongoing challenges in teacher recruitment and retention.

During her trip, Ali was delighted to be part of discussions around subject shortages, supporting supply staffing, and exploring long-term recruitment strategies tailored to the unique educational landscape of the Channel Islands. Catching up with teachers currently working in Jersey was a bonus, and seeing them flourish in their roles reminds us why we do what we do.

With their smaller communities and high-performing schools, Jersey remains an attractive destination for educators seeking both professional development and lifestyle balance. Roles benefit from competitive salaries, supportive school environments and the appeal of island living.
